CEO: Todd Moritz

Mr. Todd Moritz, Executive Director

Mr. Moritz became Executive Director of Orange Lutheran High School in May 2013 and brought with him a distinguished background in the Lutheran education system, one that saw him serve in many different capacities, each with resounding success.

Since arriving at Orange Lutheran, Mr. Moritz has been instrumental in leading the ministry through many great accomplishments, including the completion of the $15 million Beyond Expectations campus expansion project, significantly improving the financial position of our school, completing an extensive strategic plan, completing many campus / technology improvement projects, leading a large expansion of fundraising efforts and encouraging the ministry's effort to redefine the Orange Lutheran experience for students.

Mr. Moritz is a leader that is perpetually focused on the future, and that mindset is a result of his successful past in the Lutheran church and in corporate America. Before arriving at Orange Lutheran, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee, where he was responsible for the operations of its three member high schools. During his tenure, which began in 2009, the Wisconsin ministry saw significant increases in fundraising, debt reduction and capital improvements.

The Milwaukee district is the same location from which former Orange Lutheran Executive Director Dr. Ken Ellwein, who led the school between 1989-2008, emerged.

Prior to that, Mr. Moritz served as executive director, chief financial officer and director of operations during an 11-year period at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellisville, Missouri. During that time, Mr. Moritz oversaw three capital campaigns for the 6,300-person congregation, the third largest church population in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Mr. Moritz received his master's degree in business administration with distinction from the Keller Graduate School of Management in St. Louis, Missouri, along with a bachelor of arts degree in accounting and business administration from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. In 2010, Concordia University-Wisconsin recognized Moritz as a commissioned minister and teacher of religion.

God has certainly blessed the Franklin, Wisconsin native with a broad managerial and financial skill set. Utilizing these talents, Mr. Moritz’s leadership experience also includes supervisory positions with UniGroup, one of the nation’s largest privately held firms with $2.3 billion in revenue, United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit, and the Continental Baking Company, a $2 billion unit of Ralston Purina.

However, aside from his success in the business world, Mr. Moritz is most proud of the opportunity to incorporate his professional talents with his passion for ministry, especially at Orange Lutheran.

“What’s next for Orange Lutheran is huge and stems from our vision of expanding the number of people impacted by our mission while preparing students for college and a life of Christian service," Moritz said. "I’ve never seen students and faculty love a high school as much as they love this place. The most important years in the development of young people happens in high school and at Orange Lutheran, we want to help adolescents become the men and women that God wants them to be.”

Outside of his passion for his career path, Mr. Moritz's main hobbies including volunteering at his church, playing golf, and riding motorcycles. He has a love for camping and being in nature, and he has had past success with the sport of tennis.

His wife, Christine, is also passionate about ministry, and can be seen at or near Orange Lutheran on a regular basis, volunteering 20 hours a week in our Thrift Store and supporting many Lancer events. The couple has two sons, Karl, 27, and Paul, 25. Karl is a financial representative for Thrivent Financial living in Montana with his wife, Gretchen, and daughter Aliyah. Paul is the site manager for a Lutheran camp in Iowa.
