OLu receives Pacific Life grant for VR pursuit

Orange Lutheran is pursuing technological advancements on-campus, and received support from the Pacific Life Foundation.
--

As a part of Pacific Life Foundation's 3T's of Education program, Orange Lutheran received a $4,900 grant from Pacific Life with the aim to pursue the acquisition of Virtual Reality (VR) hardware (production cameras and viewer modules) to serve as a platform for learning and innovation on-campus.

The first phase of the VR initiative will focus on using VR modules to introduce and teach empathy through narratives and the real life circumstances of our world's refugee population. VR will introduce another layer of learning in its ability to tap student emotions, notably empathy and self-efficacy.
