Coach Borba earns wins 300, 301

Two victories over Chaminade on Tuesday gave baseball coach Eric Borba his 300th and 301st career wins.

Tuesday marked a milestone in the career of Orange Lutheran baseball coach Eric Borba, as he won his 300th and 301st career games.

The Lancers took on Chaminade in a doubleheader at Hart Park, with win no. 300 up for grabs in the first game. And behind a stellar performance from starting Luke Mattson and relief pitcher Jacob Castro, the Lancers put up a 3-hit shutout to clinch the milestone win for Coach Borba.

In between the games, Coach Borba, his wife, and his children posed with the Lancer players and coaches, and Coach Borba was given a special picture and picture frame signed by the players commemorating his latest accomplishment.

Then, in the second game of the day, the Lancers pitched a second shutout, behind starter Chris Burica and Cameron Hook, playing the role of reliever, to defeat the Eagles, 2-0, giving Coach Borba his win no. 301.
