The Orange Lutheran Varsity Song team spent the weekend flaunting their spirit at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The Orange Lutheran Varsity Song team won the USA Spirit Association championship in the Large Varsity Song/Pom Intermediate Division over the weekend at Anaheim Convention Center.
The girls have been perfecting their pom routine all season, which consists of several different dance elements including turns, leaps, and varying tricks. While "spirit" is a component, the division is judged specifically on the execution of the dance elements, the choreography and structure of the routine, and their showmanship and overall performance. The Lancers competed against 10 other teams on Friday and their pom routine took the high score in their division, putting them in first place and advancing them to Finals. Thirty percent of Friday's score carried over to Finals on Sunday, where they competed against Aliso Niguel High School, Foothill High School and Notre Dame High School.
The girls once again defeated the other teams and took home the title!
