Russell Havemann was called home on Monday, December 3, 2012.
Russell Havemann (Zion Anaheim) was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 3, 2012.
Havemann was an integral part of early leadership at Orange Lutheran serving on various school-wide committees as well as on the Board of Directors. By trade an engineer for Rockwell, Havemann spent innumerable hours as the Board's liaison to construction contractors during the initial building phase of the campus.
A gregarious, family-oriented servant of the Lord, Havemann enjoyed conversing with students, taking in campus performances, and supporting, at the time, a fledgling athletic program that included his daughters.
In addition to his wife Annita, survivors include: son Rusty '76 (a member of the school's first graduating class), Diana (Dautie) Lamar '78, Kathy Cooper '80, and the late Darlene Hitchcock '82. Two Hitchcock daughters are also Lancer alums - Jessica '03 and Nicole '04.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6, at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church (222 N. East St., Anaheim).
