Bryce Moore Memorial Scholarship

The Bryce Moore Memorial Scholarship honors the life and legacy of a young man whose strength, humility, and character made a lasting impact on the Orange Lutheran community. Bryce’s story is not defined by illness alone, but by the way he chose to live, showing perseverance, integrity, and quiet courage in the face of extraordinary challenges. Through this scholarship, his example continues to inspire others to live with purpose and resilience.

ABOUT BRYCE

Bryce Moore was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of pediatric cancer, at the age of 14. From the moment of his diagnosis, Bryce faced each challenge with remarkable strength, courage, and perseverance. He endured extensive treatment and long hospital stays without complaint, demonstrating a maturity and resolve far beyond his years.

From a young age, Bryce excelled both academically and athletically, and his natural leadership was matched by a kind spirit that inspired those around him to be their best. He led his youth football teams to top state and national rankings, earning the respect of his teammates and coaches. As high school approached, he had several options, but chose Orange Lutheran, drawn by the school’s values and opportunities. Bryce was scheduled to begin in the fall of 2023, but his illness prevented him from starting that year. Still, he remained determined to pursue his dreams. With optimism and resilience, he started the 2024 school year ready to contribute to the football team, the student body, and the Lancer community.

Those who knew Bryce were consistently struck not only by what he endured, but by the way he carried himself: with humility, kindness, and an unwavering determination to do his best. Bryce took great pride in his schoolwork and held himself to a high standard, even while undergoing treatment. He remained committed to learning, completing assignments, and staying engaged with his classes whenever possible. Despite his health challenges, Bryce maintained a 4.3 GPA, reflecting his discipline, focus, and deep sense of responsibility.

After a period of remission, Bryce’s cancer returned and spread aggressively. Even as his health declined, Bryce chose to continue living fully. He remained committed to academic excellence, spent time with family and friends, played football, and celebrated meaningful milestones such as going to Homecoming and earning his driver’s license. On February 22, 2025, Bryce passed away at age 16.

Though his time at Orange Lutheran was brief, his impact was profound. His perseverance, faith, and dedication continue to inspire the entire OLu community.

But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded.  2 Chronicles 5:17
