ALL IN Freshman Retreat

Orange Lutheran’s ALL IN Retreat provides freshmen with an immersive orientation experience designed to establish a strong foundation for their high school journey at OLu. During the ALL IN Retreat, students will have the opportunity to build community and friendships in the midst of God’s creation, while discovering how Orange Lutheran’s distinct Christian mission will guide and shape their personal stories and sense of purpose: Acceptance, Leadership, and Love In Christ. 

The dates of the retreat are August 13-15th. August 13th takes place on campus and includes all new students (freshmen and transfers). The overnight experience is only for freshmen and takes place at Forest Home on August 14th and 15th.

These dates are required orientation days designed to help all new Lancers acclimate to their new school environment, allow freshmen to meet their Ignite mentors, and all students will be able to connect with other new students and faculty/ staff. 

All students are expected to attend the offsite days at Forest Home. Special accommodations can be made if there is a reason a student cannot attend the overnight component. Please contact the ALL IN task force at the email below to explain the needed exemption for review and approval.

ALL IN is included in the Orange Lutheran tuition and fees. There is no additional cost to families.

Buses will take students to and from Forest Home to Orange Lutheran’s Main Campus. Parents are responsible for getting their students to Orange Lutheran on the 13th and 14th and picking them up on the 13th and 15th. If your student opted out of the overnight component, parents are responsible for drop-off and pick-up all three days.

Students will depart for Forest Home early Thursday morning and return Friday afternoon. Further details will be provided after the enrollment process.

This is a campus-wide event, so there will not be conflicts with other OLu programs for freshmen students.

Forest Home is handicap accessible and has means to account for physical limitations. Orange Lutheran will also bring large golf carts to assist students as needed.

Yes, Forest Home does accommodate dietary restrictions. Families must communicate dietary restrictions when they complete the registration process.

Students are assigned into groups throughout the weekend to provide ample opportunities to meet new students. Some groups will be broken down by alphabetical order, theology class, male, female, etc. 

Yes! Since this is a mandatory orientation, parents/ guardians must contact the attendance office to notify the school that their student will be absent. 

A packing list will be provided to families before the retreat.

Students must leave all cell phones, smart watches, iPads, etc. at home. An electronic-free environment prioritizes the opportunity for students to engage intentionally with one another, build relationships, serve without distraction, and experience the Lord working through them in the quiet moments.

Students are able to use a chaperone’s phone to contact parents or guardians while on the trip. All parents or guardians will receive the contact information prior to departure and will be communicated with while their student is on the retreat via ParentSquare.
