FAQ

List of 9 frequently asked questions.

  • When do we start the application process?

We begin the application process in the fall of the student's 8th grade year (for incoming 9th graders). Our application can be found at HERE, and we begin accepting applications on October 1. We will host a Prospective Student Open House on our campus on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Details about the application process will be available at that time, and so will our faculty, staff, and coaches.
  • What is a rolling admission?

Our Admissions Department currently evaluates prospective student applications based on the date of their interview. Families are encouraged to apply and set their interview as early as possible to insure their applications are evaluated early. Families may also register for an interview through our online application.
  • Do freshmen applicants have to take an entrance exam?

Applicants to Orange Lutheran need only take a placement test. These are offered in January of each year. This test is administered for placement purposes only, not for admission.
  • When will my student find out if he/she has been admitted?

For each school year, we will have a rolling admission, with acceptances beginning in November, to those students whose files are complete and who have been interviewed.
  • How many freshmen students will be admitted?

This number varies from year to year, with an average class size of 330-350 (correct) students.
  • Do you offer financial aid?

Orange Lutheran has a need-based financial aid program. Additional information can be found here. Please contact our Student Accounts office at (714) 998-5151 Ext. 667 if you require additional assistance.
  • What happens if my student was not able to come to the Open House?

We hoped all prospective students would have been able to join us at our Open House to meet our faculty, staff and coaches and see our beautiful campus. However, we understand that there may be other pressing matters for your family. Our "Meet OLu" event is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 29. Campus Tours are also available. To schedule a campus tour, please contact the Admissions Office at (741) 998-5151 x614.
  • Are there other dates available to visit the Orange Lutheran campus?

For a campus tour, please call the Admissions Office at (714) 998-5151 x614.
  • What is OLu Visitation Day?

On this special day, we send our student body home for the day and open our campus up to 7th and 8th grade students. Our visitors follow a mock schedule led by our Student Leadership, Ignite Mentor and Ambassador Teams.
