Varsity CheerOur Varsity Cheerleaders are responsible for cheering at all Varsity Football and Basketball games. They also attend scheduled Volleyball games and Wrestling matches. Members of the varsity cheer squad are able to confidently lead a crowd, and show a tremendous amount of school spirit. They are also required to have previous tumbling experience. We look for athletes with strong running tumbling (round off backhandspring, layouts, or fulls) and solid standing tumbling as well (standing back tuck). A once a week tumbling class is required. This squad competes in the Small Varsity Advanced division and their competition season runs from November through April.
Varsity Song
Our Varsity Songleaders are responsible for cheering at all Varsity Football and Basketball games. They also attend scheduled Volleyball games and Wrestling matches. Members of the Varsity Song squad are able to confidently lead and perform in front of large crowds. We look for strong technical dancers. Execution in turns and extension in leaps is expected. Completing a clean 4 pirouette turn and a 180 degree switch leap is recommended, as well as combination fouette turns and a single leg hold turn. A once a week dance class is required. This squad competes in the Small Varsity Intermediate division and their competition season runs from December through April.
JV Cheer
Our JV Cheerleaders are responsible for cheering at JV and Freshmen Football games and JV Boys and Varsity Girls Basketball games. A standing backhandspring, round off backhandsprings, and round off tucks are skills we like to see at this level. No previous stunting experience is necessary, however, mastering level 2 or 3 stunting skills are encouraged. High energy and spirit are required for this squad. They compete in the Junior Varsity Novice division and their competition season runs from December through April.
JV Song
Our JV Songleaders are responsible for cheering at JV and Freshmen Football games and JV Boys and Varsity Girls Basketball games. We look for strong technical dancers who are willing to constantly improve their dance technique. Execution in turns and extension in leaps is expected. Completing a clean 2 pirouette turn and a toe touch is recommended, as well as combination fouette turns and a single leg hold turn. A once a week dance class is required. High energy and spirit are required for this squad. They compete in the Junior Varsity Novice division and their competition season runs from December through April. |
