Gregg Pinick, Executive Director

Orange Lutheran High School benefits every day from Executive Director Gregg Pinick's love for Jesus and his broad experience in school administration. A servant in Lutheran school ministry for 29 years, Pinick has served as the school's top administrator since July 2008. He joined Orange Lutheran as principal in 1997 and prior to that was head of school at Christ Community Lutheran School in Kirkwood, Missouri.  Gregg and his wife Melanie have been married for 24 years and are the proud parents of three children.

After graduating from Concordia Teachers College in Seward, NE in 1980, with a BSEd in elementary education, Gregg began his ministry at Hosanna-Tabor Lutheran School in Redford, Michigan as a fourth grade teacher and youth director. The following year he moved to Southern California and began his tenure at Zion Lutheran Church and School in Anaheim, where he served as a teacher, coach, summer camp director, principal, and supervisor of schools.

In 1989, Gregg moved to St. Louis, Missouri and began his role as the Product Manager for Computer Products at Concordia Publishing House (CPH). In his 18 months at CPH he had the opportunity to travel around the country to assist pastors, teachers, and principals with how to use the computer as a tool for ministry. He also heard God's call five times to return as a school principal and did accept the head of school position at Christ Community Lutheran School (CCLS) in Kirkwood, MO beginning with the 1990-91 school year.  It was in January of 1991 that he received his MSEd in Educational Administration from Cal State University, Fullerton.

At CCLS, Gregg learned the ins and outs of running an association ministry. CCLS was supported by five area Lutheran congregations and had ministry located on four of the five campuses. Ministries such as day care, summer camp, and all day kindergarten were added during his tenure. It was during this time as well that he developed an appreciation for working with boards and the governance process.

In 1997, Gregg received the Call to serve at Lutheran High School of Orange County. He has served as principal for eleven years watching the school grow from 600 students to its present day enrollment of nearly 1300 students.  Helping students internalize the Gospel message of salvation in Christ Jesus motivates him everyday.
