String Orchestra
The Orange Lutheran Orchestra was formed in 2001. Consisting of two members at the time, the orchestra has grown to a twenty-seven member group of violin, viola, cello, bass, and piano players. The group performs at several concerts throughout the year including the Fall, Christmas, Sacred, Festival, and Pops concerts. The orchestra also showcases a 'Family and Friends concert' as a finale to each academic year.

About the Director
Mr. Matt Potthoff graduated from Concordia University, Irvine in 2001 with a Bachelors Degree in Music and Mathematics, completed his secondary education credential in 2003, and received his Masters Degree in Education in 2005. Mr. Potthoff has been teaching at Lutheran High School of Orange County since 2001. Along with directing the orchestra, Mr. Potthoff teaches a full schedule of Math classes and also runs the chess club. Mr. Potthoff's main instrument is cello and he enjoys arranging music for his string students.
