English Language Arts Department

The English Language Arts Department strives to help students internalize the Gospel message of salvation through Jesus Christ. All students are given the opportunity to develop their God-given communication skills for the betterment of themselves, their families, community, nation, church, and God’s Kingdom.

Courses Include: English 1, English 2, English 3, World Literature & Composition, Writing Experience, AP English Language & Composition, AP English Literature & Composition, Journalism-Yearbook, Journalism-Newspaper, Film and Media Studies, Exploring Shakespeare

Foreign Language Department

Modern languages are receiving increased emphasis in today’s world of international travel, faxes, computers, and instant global communication. There is a great demand to be conversant in other languages as well as a great need for God’s people to develop an awareness and appreciation for people in different cultures. Courses in French, German, Sign Language and Spanish are offered to meet the needs and interests of most students.

Social Studies Department

The primary goal of the Social Studies Department at Orange Lutheran High School is to inform and equip students to become active Christian members of our democratic society. Students will gain a deep perspective and appreciation of the different cultures, governments, and societies of the world. The history of the United States will be a strong focal point throughout each student’s study as well as the functions of our government and economy.
