Important Information
Transportation policy
During 2nd semester there are many off-campus events that the students participate in ......... Jazz Festival, Winter Guard, Handbells Festival, Percussion Festival, Middle School Visitation, etc.
Transportation to these events is done by parents in personal vehicles. Therefore I want to be sure all our parents have and understand the school policy on parents transporting students.
- These events are school events and so the school becomes responsible for the students beginning with call time and ending when students return to the school.
- Students can only ride with "designated drivers" or their own parents. A "designated driver" is identified as an adult that has provided the school, through me, a copy of their driver's license and insurance card.
- All students have to return to the school after the event unless their parent picks them up and checks them out with me or the staff member in charge.
- A student can not go home (not to the school) with another parent unless they have a signed note from their parent telling me they have permission to go home with the other parent. Once the students have returned to the school they are no longer under the school responsibility and I don't have to have approval information on who they go home with.
- We welcome and encourage friends and students to go to the events and cheer on the group. If students that are not active participants of the group want to ride with the group in the designated vehicles, they have to have a completed permission form and medical release turned in to me prior to the event. It will be the student's responsibility to get the forms from me and return them prior to the event. If the students find their own transportation to and from the event, separate from the group, they will not need the completed forms.
Please be sure to review these items with your student so that they understand their role in regards to these policies.
If you have any questions or concerns, please be sure to give me a call or e-mail.
Concert Wear
Your son or daughter will soon need formal wear for concerts. Whether you need to purchase new formal wear or not, please read the following guidelines.
Formal wear should be ordered/purchased as soon as possible, it will be worn at the December 13th Christmas concert. This is especially important for the girls because it may take 6 weeks to receive the dress and then time to have it hemmed.
For boys: tuxes may be purchased from any source you wish, but they must be the style indicated below
For girls: all formal wear must be ordered from Stage Accents. For orders under $100.00: if you order by phone the shipping charge is $15.00, online is $12.00. Our two choices of styles are currently back ordered, they will take 4 – 6 weeks to arrive so be sure to order ASAP.
The dresses run a little small, so check measurements provided on the website. The dresses are sent unhemmed and they will need to be hemmed prior to the Christmas concert.
Please let me know if you have any questions,
Carol Comeau
