Ponytail Drive and Cut-A -Thon

Raising money for Cancer Patients

PONYTAIL DRIVE and CUT-A-THON

Please join us February 6th from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. as we donate our ponytails to help many people who are battling cancer.  We will host a Ponytail Drive/Cut-A-Thon to provide wigs for cancer patients who have lost their hair due to treatments.  All you need is 8 inches of unbleached hair (measurement is taken from just above the rubber band of the ponytail to the end) that you are willing to donate, and we will do the rest.  There will be professional hairdressers on campus to cut hair for free on the day of the event. 

In addition to the Ponytail Drive this is also a Cut-A-Thon.  So if you don’t have long hair, but want to participate, we will cut your hair and you can make a donation to the cause.  There will also be t-shirts available for purchase.

Friends Christian Middle School lost one of their students, Brielle Murray, last year to cancer.  Her friend, Grace Underwood, wanted to host a Ponytail Drive in honor of her amazing life.  Helping Hearts is supporting this event and will donate the proceeds from the Ponytail Drive to “Brielle’s Bedrooms.”  This is the ministry the Murray family started. Donations will buy supplies to decorate hospital rooms for sick children.

If you would like to donate your ponytail, get a haircut, or contribute to this event in any way, please email Sue Underwood at: susanmunderwood@gmail.com.  We prefer that you make an appointment for the day of the event, but we are also taking walk-ins.
