Why do we do what we do?

Our desire is to help students internalize the gospel message of Jesus Christ.  This process continues after becoming a Christian, as our transformation is an active ongoing process that should continue throughout our lives.  Our hope is that through the various activities offered through the Orange Lutheran Mission Program, our students will learn to represent Jesus Christ in every environment in which they find themselves.  They should be different in how they approach everything; how they treat their parents, friends, enemies; how they spend their money; how they view the world.  Their perspective on what is important should be altered ultimately and reflect a Christ-centered attitude.  Ultimately, this is why we do what we do.  The projects we complete through this process are really a by-product of our greater goal.  Through transforming the lives of our students we are able to transform the world for Jesus Christ.

Why do we spend so much money doing this?

If, by spending a thousand dollars on a trip, we can change the perspective of one of our students to reflect that of Christ, then we have spent our money well.  We have helped to draw that individual closer to Jesus.  The lifelong change in that life will result in a many fold increase in money invested in the cause for Christ.
