Arts Division

Whether expressed in the stroke of a paintbrush, an echo of a drum, or the passion of a monologue, there is no replacement for the nurturing effect the arts have on our students. Anchored by the school's stunning Alexandra Nechita Center, Gallery500, and use of the latest technology, Orange Lutheran's award-winning arts programs offer students countless opportunities in the Visual, Media, and Performing Arts, giving students the creative edge they need for a well-rounded and dynamic education.

Visual Arts Department

The Visual Arts Program at Lutheran High School provides an opportunity for all students to explore their God-given creative talents and to develop a visual literacy that allows them to actively respond to and interact with the world around them. Students have the opportunity to take four years of visual arts courses in which to create a portfolio of work. Regardless of the student’s intentions, it has been documented that students who participate in the fine arts become more aware and are better prepared for higher education and the aesthetic experiences of life yet to come.

Year Long Courses Include: Exploratory Art, Honors Exploratory Art, Advanced Drawing & Painting, Advanced Sculpure & Ceramics, Advanced Studio Art, and A.P. Studio Art (2D), A.P Studio Art (Drawing), A.P. Studio Art (3D), and A.P Art History.

Media Arts Department

The primary goal of the Media Arts program is to provide students with education in media and computer based art forms in order to develop a visual literacy that allows them to respond to and interact with the world around them . Students will be able to explore their God given talents by being immersed in hands-on training related to the Media Arts industry using professional level applications that utilize the latest advances in technology. Students will also be engaged in related theory and art education practices.

Year Long Courses Include: Graphic Design 1 & 2, Digital Photography 1 & 2,  Interactive Web Design, Digital Photography, Video Production, Speech and Broadcasting, and Film Studies.

Online Semester Courses Include: Multimedia Design, Digital Photography 1 & 2, Video Game Design 1 & 2

Vocal & Instrumental Music

Through the vocal and instrumental music program at Lutheran High School, students will develop musical excellence, leadership skills, teamwork concepts, character, and creativity to be used in a lifetime of service to the Lord. Our top priority is musical ministry coupled with superior performance. Students will have the opportunity to perform on campus as well as at churches, schools, and many community functions.

Instrumental Courses Include: String Orchestra, Honors String Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Honors Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Handbell Ensemble.

Vocal Courses Include: Women's Chorus, Men's Chorus, Concert Choir, Honors Chamber Choir, Unlimited Warranty, Bel Canto.

Theatre Arts

William Shakespeare once wrote, "All the world’s a stage." In the theatrical and dramatic arts, we observe the world around us and how art and life imitate each other. The students are trained in a Christian environment to utilize their God-given talents and maximize their dramatic and creative potential.

Courses Include: Drama 1, 2, and 3, Musical Theatre Dance, and Performance Dance.
